Privacy Policy
Effective 30 August 2026
In brief: Djembe Lab works without an account. It has no advertising or behavioural analytics. Account information and saved rhythms leave your device only when you choose to use Cloud Sync.
Who operates Djembe Lab
Djembe Lab is developed and operated by Jungle Juz. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to junglejuz@gmail.com.
Information stored on your device
Djembe Lab stores saved rhythms, arrangements, app settings, theme choices and related preferences in browser or app storage on your device. It also caches app files and drum samples so the app can work offline. This information is not sent to Djembe Lab unless you enable Cloud Sync.
Optional Cloud Sync
If you create or sign in to a Cloud Sync account, Djembe Lab sends the following information to Google Firebase:
- Your email address and a Firebase account identifier.
- Your saved rhythm data, including rhythm names, patterns, arrangements, settings and update timestamps.
- Technical information Firebase needs to authenticate requests, prevent abuse and operate the service.
Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication. Djembe Lab does not receive or store a readable copy of it.
How information is used
Cloud information is used only to authenticate your account, restore saved rhythms, synchronize them between your devices, provide password resets, maintain service security and respond to support or deletion requests.
Sharing and service providers
Djembe Lab uses Google Firebase for authentication, database storage and website hosting. Google processes information on Djembe Lab's behalf to provide those services. Djembe Lab does not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. Information may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.
Retention
Cloud account information and synchronized rhythms are retained while your account exists. When an individual synchronized rhythm is removed, a deletion record may remain so that the removal can be synchronized to your other devices. Account deletion removes the account and all rhythm documents held under it.
Information stored locally remains on each device until you delete it in Djembe Lab, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Djembe Lab cannot remotely erase local data from a device.
Security
Cloud data is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections. Firestore access rules restrict each signed-in user to rhythm documents held under their own Firebase user identifier. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Djembe Lab does not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which they may consent to online services in their country. A parent or guardian who believes a child has created an account can contact the address above to request deletion.
International processing
Google Firebase may process and store information in countries other than your own. Those locations may have different data-protection laws.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated when Djembe Lab's data practices change. Material changes will be identified by a revised effective date.
Delete your account and cloud data
You can permanently delete your Djembe Lab Cloud Sync account and every rhythm stored under it. For security, you will be asked to sign in again. Rhythms stored locally on your devices are not removed.
